I haven't seen the film yet, but ...

If the premise is "only 18 minutes of decision time", shouldn't the first issue be destroying the incoming missile, and *then* decide what to do next? We've had tech to trace and destroy incoming missiles for several years.

Movie reviews seem to concentrate on having only 18 minutes to decide who do we blast into smithereens, and human dilemmas in making decisions.

I have not see it yet but a friend who worked with me on BMDS for several years recommended it and I do plan to watch. (I was a Senior Analyst on the Operational Test Team for the BMDS program for over 10 years).
