I know nothing! Hello all. I have contracted the Jag bug. I must have an xjs. My BMW lease is up in 8 months and I intend to learn all I can. For starters, --and this must be a common question-- V12 or straight 6? I live in California--will sit in traffic, but love a good whip around the hills and down the highway. Also, love a long drive. Want the coupe, and have been told the straight 6 is less trouble, but the 12 is closer to God. Any thoughts are apprecited. Also, I have no mechanical skills whatsoever!

Choosing a Jaguar XJS can be a complicated process.
I think the coupes are way nicer than the roadsters.
Everything about the last generation XJS is terrific EXCEPT!
A V12 will be difficult to find that has not been abused or taken care of.
Finding a shop with Jaguar skills is a problem and be prepared to empty your wallet many times over.
When I drove mine home, I was astounded about how it performed.
I was able to drive mine at 120 MPH in the rain on the freeway.
Do not attempt that unless you know the car intimately and your skills for 60 years.
They are all two seaters, the only time I had passenger in mine they had to seat diagonally.
My 94 V12 coupe was a "gift" but over 5 years I had to put in $15K into it.
