I have vivid memories of my dad and me listening to Lovell circling the moon on Apollo 8 on Christmas Eve. We were both awe struck.

I don't remember anything about Apollo 13.
Along with the networks ho hum attitude, I must have been otherwise occupied.
I also probably stopped believing I was going to be an astronaut.
Now I record the film "Apollo 13" and watch it at least once a month.
That's about as exciting as my life gets.
