I’m having some work done at my house. Today, the contractor broke a water pipe from the outside hose valve while pulling off the siding. I was in the supermarket and got an alert that there was a leak detected in the basement. The system I built shut off the water to the house saving a complete disaster. I came home and told the worker that he broke a pipe in my basement and he couldn’t understand how I knew that since I wasn’t home. I’ve already got it repaired. The fun never ends.

Well done! We’re dealing with some leaks now in our water main outside, and it’s been a true PITA to get good work done and get it all sorted.

Here’s the water shutoff valve.
