The first time ever I saw *her* face -

Had a good listen to her on the way to the office this morning... incredible voice. RIP.

An incredible voice and talent. RIP

I was sitting in the barber's chair at Keesler AFB, Biloxi, MS, when I first heard that song. (circa Jan 1973). You know a song is great if yu remember exactly where you were the first time you heard it. RIP Ms Flack.
(Coincidentally, I was sitting in the same barber's chair the first time I heard "You're So Vain".

I feel like there is something espeically Freudian about this confession.

So, you were in a chair with a huge mirror and you heard the words 'the first time ever I saw your face.....

and now you say the next time you looked at the same mirror you heard 'You're so vain......

Perhaps ze next time will be 'Oh Lord it's hard to be humble?'
