Enclosed Trailer Size

Currently looking for an enclosed trailer for my BJ8. I'd like to get the smallest trailer possible which would be a 16 footer. Does anyone have experience with a AH 3000 in a 16 footer? Because a 3000 is 13 feet in length, I'm wondering how easy or difficult it is to work the tie downs in the front with such limited space.

David--

In order to work them easily the ratcheting mechanisms on the tie-downs need to be out from under the car and I don't think you would be able to make that happen with anything less than an 18' hauler. Whatever, do NOT get a narrow trailer--there will come a time when you'll need to get into the cockpit when the car is in the trailer and having to climb OVER the car would present a problem.

Would not purchase a trailer any shorter than a 18 footer.
More than likely, you will haul something long than the Healey at some point. It also makes resale easier.
The benefit is that in case of somebody hitting you from the rear you have a cushion.
Be sure to check the width between the fenders…you want the maximum.

I have a 16 ft trailer. Works great and has a little extra room.
