Hello fellow classic car enthusiasts,

I’m reaching out to you all today with a heavy heart, as I find myself in a very difficult situation.
I also feel terribly uncomfortable creating my first post like this...

Recently, I had an unfortunate incident where I accidentally damaged my friend’s classic car, a valuable heirloom from his late father.
It was a mistake that I deeply regret – especially since I know how many memories and how much meaning this car holds for him.

The situation became even more complicated when I also rear-ended his first car.
Both vehicles, which unfortunately didn’t have full coverage insurance, were damaged in the accident.
This happened while we were transporting the classic car to the garage for a routine MOT inspection, to ensure that the nearly 70-year-old Austin Healey could continue to drive on the road.
This classic car holds significant emotional value for my friend, and I want to do everything I can to restore it to its original condition.

However, the repair costs are overwhelming – the damage assessment amounts to approximately €30,000. Unfortunately, I am unable to afford this amount, even with both my main job and a side job. The insurance will not cover the costs as it’s considered a self-inflicted accident.

Therefore, I have made the difficult decision to ask for help. I have started a GoFundMe campaign with the goal of raising at least one-third of the repair costs. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help me ease this enormous burden and save my friend’s heirloom.

Here is the link to my GoFundMe page, where you can find more details about the situation and contribute if you’re able: GoFoundMe

If you want to see more pictures it´s no problem :/ but not good to see..

I want to thank you all in advance for any support you can offer, whether through a donation or simply by sharing this post. Every little bit helps and means the world to us.
Thank you and best regards

Sebastian from Germany

Hey Guys,

I can understand you if you think its scam, in another forum someone say that :/ , I can gladly post the rejection letter from the German insurance company here where they say Frack off we dont pay where you can see the license plates... and enough pictures from on site... It's not like that, please don't immediately assume the negative.
Its a big problem between my friend and me what happenend and i work my ass off to do something else that i can make the damage not so big...

I drove in with a BMW F30 in white that actually suffered hardly any damage, as the rear-end collision was at low speed.

EDIT: Dont, know why the Pictures can´t be show with the Insert Link URL Funktion

Sorry for double Post.

EDIT2:

In the AHEXP Forum they say i am a scammer but thats not real, but if you think thats not real then delete it...
It is only a despair post if you have a bad problem....

If you wanna look, have nothing to hide:

I'm sure you understand that scams happen everyday such that, when most people see something like this, they immediately think "scam," even if it isn't a scam. If you were you a regular member who had been here for many years, people would not be so skeptical, but as you only joined today, nobody here knows you from Adam. I'm going to leave this post here for now, but I would caution people to use your own discretion. Also, Sebastian, I'm sending you a Private Message with some specific questions.

As I said, I absolutely understand that, it just feels like one of the last ideas I have left, we have tried to talk to the insurance company with lawyers but no chance...
I already have two jobs and work my ass off and then such a lousy accident happens, I don't want any handouts, I just want to see my buddy who drives this fancy classic car happy again with only a few problem and not for many years ...

And of course feel free to write to me privately, I'll answer you.

EDIT: The Link in the First Post doesn´t work. Sorry.

It would help if the person affected was a member of the German Austin-Healey club.
This also applies to donations from German club members and confirmation from them that it is a legitimate request.

Edit; informed the German Austin-Healey Club.

For everyone, I have already had a nice exchange with the admin of BCF Basil.

Have talked a lot with Basil Mate.

It's all good, please let the German AH Club know.
As I said, he is not a member, there are both of us, yes, living in Hamburg, two young men...with a problem...
I didn't lie about anything and most importantly, I didn't force somebody to do anything, I asked for help.

Sorry to make such a fuss and panic everyone.
But it feels like s*** to be treated like this.

Folks I have been talking with Sebastian privately. I am locking this topic for now but may reopen it later if/when I hear back from some people I've reached out to in Germany.
