You might be old if.

I'm at 22. No Myspace but I had Compuserve. An obscure oldie I did was degaussing the TV. My dad had built a Heathkit TV that needed the degauss wand from time to time when the RGB colors were off at the corners of the screen.

Funny enough, "degauss" gives me an error from the spell checker.

wow - CompuServe. I even remember my old 1980s login - something like 12345.54321. There was no "homepage" then - just a dialup connection and a text-based interface.

I am 20 to 23. It depends on Walkman as brand and the size of the boombox.

22 - no myspace and no AOL (I think)

15 here - I wasn't one of the "COOL Kids" who owned a Walkman.
I still use a dictionary,paper maps,phone books,send postcards & write
checks,& use a flip phone.
And my MGB GT has wind up windows.

20 here, I didn't have an AOL account, never had MySpace, never ordered from Columbia House, and I've never sent or received a fax.

Remembering those old dial up sounds, forgot what they sounded like. Reminds me of "You've Got Mail". :thumbsup2:

No MySpace or Compuserve for me either but I did use e-World in the early 90’s.
When you logged on you were in a small town. From there you could go to the post office, news stand, etc.
Anyone else remember e-World?

But what’s with “ordering from Columbia house “?
company in North America that sold records and tapes by mail order. You got a bunch essentially for free and then had to buy a certain amount for regular price.

I got roped into the Columbia House scam and soon racked up a large bill for LPs I never wanted.
Columbia House eventually sent me in for collection but they found out I was too young to be liable.
I probably still have one ow two of the records they sent.

I never really quit listening to vinyl. I have owned my Thorens TD145 for over twenty years, and have always accumulated more and more records as I found good deals on them.

Everything old is new again. I have had a couple of students and friends of my sons tell me how much some of my records are worth, and it is mind boggling when you consider you couldn't hardly give them away a couple of years ago.

guilty of all but 2 , columbia house, but we never had that in the UK and My space, Did have an A llways O f L ine account
What i did have was a radio with a slot in the top to put a 7" vinyl record in that you could play as you walked around, worke very well,
just a pain dragging a box of records around with you

I scored 22 - never got roped into the Columbia House trap and didn't use AOL because it was a paid service. Guilty of all the others - how many extra points do you get for:

1 - STILL have at least one functioning rotary dial phone at home

2 - Still use CDs for listening to music (no streaming capability at my house)

3 - Still use occasional cheques for paying certain bills

4 - Still occasionally play vintage consoles including the Atari

5 - Still own several and use at least 1 boombox (which plays CDs)

6 - Still have a few vintage computers that save things to floppy disks

We have #3, #5, #6. We have CD's, but are too lazy to use them
