When I first saw the article I though it would be a theft for the metal (how many houses have had the copper stripped out of them for example). To find it destroyed in a burning trash can makes it even more of an evil act in my mind, destruction just for destruction's sake. How do you even get bronze to burn???

I saw n article in the paper today saying $140,000.00 had been raised to replace the statue.
