Saw our Tufted Titmouse pair, first time in three months.
 
The bird flu has been recorded in several states and 4 Oklahoma counties. Thousands of chickens and turkeys are infected and being killed and burned to help eradicate this mess in all affected areas. This is very serious in the poultry market, putting some growers out of business! It has moved into the wild birds killing many thousands, possibly millions plus it seems like no one has an answer on how to stop it. :unsure:

Praying if they can't fight it that it will run it's course quickly and things will get back to normal as soon as possible.
 
It's terrible that the bird flu is wiping out so many wild birds. If it makes you feel any better Paul our population in the SW part of the state is doing okay. There are less than normal but we still have them out and about.

Saw a flock of black birds, freckles and cowbirds fly over heading south. Took 22 minutes for them to get past.
 
I saw one cardinal this morning fly across the road. That might sound funny, but it's been going on 4 months since we've seen more than a few smaller birds, actually, I've counted only 6 by the feeders. Flocks of Crows though! I'm assuming the Crows are not affected by the bird flu. :rolleyes2:

Mean enough not to be affected.
 
Well, today we saw a few small birds for the first time in months! It looks like they are starting to come back! :arms:

That’s great. Wouldn’t expect too many though considering the time of year. Let’s see what next spring looks like
 
Saw Juncos at park yesterday and in our yard today. Cold is coming soon.

Small song birds have returned from their hiatus and busy consuming about 2 lb. of seed from the hopper weekly.
