I've been on and off using these forums for several years. No sense not joining one. They have been a treasure trove of knowledge... Some more so than others, but excellent reads just the same.
Back in 2000, for $1600, I bought a box of junk plus a rolling chassis with a motor and transmission on it. It was my first 1974 TR6, early with the directional lights above the bumper, and with the gigantic rubber over riders. But I loved that car. I rebuilt it completely. It was also my favorite color, (mallard). Well by 2010 I sold her. Kicked my own ars ever since. I put so much into it and hated to sell it, but I had to have my motorcycle. I used most of the money from that car for a 2010 Harley Road King Classic. Fast forward to 2019, I ran into a health problem, ended up on chemo for a stint. I wanted to get my mind right and onto something I've always loved doing. My dear wife encouraged me to find another TR6, which I talked about on countless occasions. So, I started a search. At the time I was living in RI. A close friend of mine joined me in search of my next project car. By the time I found one, with my friends help, we were in the middle of the now fabled pandemic. I crossed state lines anyway, into Connecticut, regardless of the governor's pleads not to do so. I bought a '72 with no interior other than some bare metal parts, and busted roof frame. But it ran, and it only had 54K miles on it original!! Long story short, I'll be holding onto this one down here in sunny Florida. I put a lot of sweat and investment into it. Is it perfect? No. Is it a great driver? Yes indeed. I'll share some pics.

Thank you for the welcome
Patrick

Glad you decided to join us! (If no one joined they wouldn't exist).
I can see a picture in your Avatar but maybe you can post some larger pictures? Looks great in the avatar.

I have some shots from the day I had the car and my other bike packed up and ready to ship to FL from RI. Thanks for the welcome AngliaGT

Great story and good looking car, as I got older I also outgrew my Harleys, I dropped my two wheeler twice in one month while in the garage, I knew it was time to let both of them go, sold them and bought a 1952 MGTD to give me something to do, and it's kept me busy.

I don't think you ever get finished on these old cars, but they do give you something to keep you busy, it's called a hobby.
Thanks for the pic's of your car. Louis

You're welcome Louis. I haven't sold the bike just yet, as my wife and I enjoy rides using both. I'm sorry to hear that you've laid the bike down, but this can happen to anybody. I am reluctant to give up the two wheels, and will also hold onto the TR for as long as it will have me. I enjoy tinkering too much. Just added the Good Parts triple manifold and a third carb. It was an adventure, but I learned a lot about the problems of doing so along the way, if anyone is ever interested.
