Is it possible to look up BCF members by geographic location?

I think several years ago Basil mentioned that sorting members by location might be a privacy/security issue. I'm pretty sure that before 2008 there was a Sort by Location, but that no longer exists.

On one ÂŁorum i was a member on we had a members map, it was up to the individual to put a ÂŁlag where they were in the world,
It was interesting to see how ÂŁar and wide the membership was spread.
The panther car club has something similar with a google map, where we can request by email to have our car model placed with a coloured ÂŁlag,

For some reason, this forum software, unlike the previous software we used, doesn’t have the ability to search members by location. I wish it did.

Thanks. We will be celebrating our 50th and planning a trip. I thought it might be advantageous to check with someone local in the cities we’ll be in.

Elliot - Why not just post your route in Pub and other areas, and ask who might like to share details and recommendations. That's what I did on my Connecticut to California "Mac and Phyllis" drive. I got responses from BCF members in nearly every area of my drive.

A public post might be taken as less "invasive" than contacting members privately.

Elliot - You know if you're coming to the Smokies you have to let me know! When is the trip planned?

Thanks Tom. Planned route is overseas and that's why I was trying to find members in specific cities.
