I used Denoise on the file you sent (full size) and it only took 50 seconds
HMMMM> I wonder why it took so long for mine. Will have to see if more RAM is needed.
 
More RAM is always needed. 😏
 
The GIMP image does look sharper. Speaking of noise. Lightroom has a new AI noise reduction to is like freaking magic. One button push and not only is noise reduced significantly, but detail is actually improved. Not sure if Mitts has the latest LR, but if she does, she needs to check it out:

Not sure that’s why the time for doing the denoise operation would be due to RAM unless she only has like 4GB. I would think 8GB or more
Her current machine is an off-the-shelf one, adding more RAM may be an answer but it may be a better solution to put together a newer machine to spec.
