Humor or the Pub?

Yes, it was a turbo prop..not a simple airplane to fly.
Agree but any plane for a non-pilot is not simple to fly :scared:

I agree with you as well. Were I a professor, I'd tell my students that their papers must be written by them personally, with citations. If it is determined that AI was used to assist, you fail!
This year, we've seen a dramatic jump in kids trying to sneak AI papers past us. Luckily they aren't all that difficult to spot, they have trouble with English syntax, can't cite, etc. I'm having to revamp my syllabus for my fall classes to specifically address this issue. Utilizing AI is considered plagiarism, so it will earn a zero on an assignment and can potentially get a kid expelled.

The automatic plagiarism checker that is used by my university is getting upgraded this summer. They are partnering with Open AI in order to not only identify traditional plagiarism but also AI written papers. So even as the AI will inevitably become more sophisticated, hopefully our software will keep up. I imagine it will since Open AI is who produces Chat GPT which is what most the kids are using.

I'm trying to convince the administration at the high school I teach at to also buy the plagiarism software the university uses. My regular high school classes could become trickier if our administrators don't recognize the problem.

And I like writing. Lady friend once told me she lead a boring childhood, so I'm correcting that by periodically giving her stories about what I see her having done growing up. Stating with a little kid with a dog and teddy bear named Mrs Biggles all the way to going to college. I wouldn't want something written by AI, I much prefer the personal touch of knowing some adventure came to mind and I put it down. Also send her random verse about things that just pop into my head. Yes, yes, too many blows to it when I was young......

…so we are going to use AI to spot Ai. Interesting.
Yup. If AI starts understanding English syntax it will become a lot harder to pick out. If it can do that and start producing citations it will be nearly impossible to pick out.

No one knows AI better than the people at Open AI.
