You Tube to the rescue.

We have a French door Samsung refrigerator/freezer. A couple of days ago during some violent storms our power flickered on and off a lot then finally went out for about 6 hours. Next day my wife was going to get ice but nothing came out. We have had issues with the ice maker in the past. It would get frozen up. So she went to get the ice tray out but it was stuck.
Next morning I worked on it and finally got the tray out. There was a huge ice buildup in the unit which took a while to thaw out. I then noticed the fridge was not getting very cold. It was going down to 50 degrees.
After some you tube searches I found a guy that had the solution and in a very clear video he went step by step on how to clear the issue.
Fridge is working again.
I had made a stop by a big box store looking at new Fridge/freezer units. Glad I fixed ours as it saved nearly $2000.00

On a different note. Our fridge has a draw that goes the full width of the fridge so you have to open both doors as wide as they will go to use the draw. So it hardly ever gets used. All the fridges had that same draw???

Youtube is a tremendous resource! Without it I don’t think I could have rebuilt my TR6 engine; I can read a manual but it helps to see things in real life…

We have a GE fridge and it has a full width drawer…

Our Kitchen Aid has one also.
Wife chose it but I think it's stupid.
It's actually our third, the first two died soon after delivery.
Engineering is dead.

My GE Monogram fridge/freezer and Thermador cooktop are still going strong 34 years after I bought them.

Lived thru 35 years in my youth with a Kelvinator side-by-side freezer/fridge, never an issue. Now, if a fridge lasts ten years we feel like we've won a lottery. Just last year got an LG unit, fingers crossed.

And YouTube videos walked us thru replacing the oil pump, timing chain & tensioners in a neighbor's Infinity G37 V-6 a couple years ago. Would have been a true puzzle without that.

I can't count the amount of $$ I've saved by finding solutions to problems on YouTube. Congrats on the fix!

LG freezer/fridge WORST appliance we EVER purchased! The compressor assembly failed 3 times in 18 months. Absolute garbage. Each time the repair tech came out (fortunately covered by warranty) said the same thing - Oh yeah, they know these things fail all the time. Finally got the store to give us a credit towards a new unit. Hope you don't suffer the same issues/challenges.

Just recently bought an LG Washer and Dryer based on many positive reviews. So far we love this set - hope it holds up as long as our previous Sears Kenmore set did. Time will tell.

We replaced a 25 year old Bosch washer an dryer last year. Last time the repairman was out and declared the washer dead ($1200 for the required part) he said whatever you get you won't like it as much as the Bosch. Got a Samsung and it is all right but the repairman was right.

We just replaced our (probably 20+) year old Bosch dish washer with a Bosch 800 series. The older Bosch still worked, but we just felt it was a bit long in the tooth and all the buttons were illegible. Our stove is also Bosch.
