I got to see teh one at teh Chrysler museum

There were a few of them running around a small track at the New York Worlds Fair back in the 1960's.
Definitely the coolest exhibit for me at the time.
Who knew they would never make it into full production?????
 
Apparently 55 were made, 46 of them destroyed for tax reasons. The others are accounted for, Jay Leno has one (that figures).
 
Probably the same one in that ad!
I got to ride in a turbine car exactly like that when I was about 13. They (Chrysler I think) had one at the ‘64 Worlds Fair.
