Castrol DOT4 Brake Fluid

It seems Castrol has discontinued making/selling DOT 4 brake fluid. I called Castrol and was told they discontinued it in July 2021.
I was thinking if I could find it I would stock up. I asked what the self life was for an unopened aluminum sealed bottle was. He said 3 years.
I asked if they have a replacement, answer is no.

What other brand is recommended for our British cars now?

Any DOT 4 brake fluid. They are all compatible and must meet the DOT standard.

The reason they have discontinued it is Fidel died. :jester:
 
I've been using DOT 5 in my brake and clutch systems for over 20 years. I started with completely new systems, Other than having to do that, the disadvantages of using silicone have, IMO, have been overrated.
