probably the one thing that will haunt him is the fact he didn't reconcile with the rest of SNY
 
I read his biography years ago and he had some serious addiction issues even by rock star standards - a little surprised he lasted as long as he did, but, agreed with all before great music.

I remember there was some controversy when in th e1990s he received a liver transplant. The controversy was because he received the transplant, despite his history of drug and alcohol use, ahead of others, some believed only because of his celebrity status.
 
Loved his music, which is rare for me and music of that era.

There was a comment (elsewhere) that he outlived his liver by 20 years.
