Me either but Fleetwood Mac was formed in 1967 (she was 24) Most of what we know of the band was in the '70's. Rumors came out the year I was 16 and it was a very good summer. What a great album, a quick search says the 8th best selling album of all time. I remember reading a book about the band and how every other album they had done sold in the 400,000 range and then that - and as all the marriages were ending.

RIP indeed.
 
She was somewhat overshadowed by Stevie Nicks, but was every bit as talented. Everybody knows the band from the Nicks/Buckingham days, and music aficionados will go on about the Peter Green days, but I liked the McVie and Bob Welch songs from the early seventies. Early days of FM album oriented progressive rock.

I would have never thought that she was 79! If I had to guess, I would have said 65 maybe. Of course when guessing a woman's age I always lean on the side of caution. :rolleyes2:

I would have said that Peter Green was the pick of the litter. Out of the later Fleetwood Mac (which I am not all that much of a fan of) Christine McVie was definitely the pick of the litter.

I was never a big fan of the band, but I watched a documentary of them a couple of years ago and realized I liked a few of their songs a lot.
Christine McVie was definitely the most stand out performer and artist.
