78 MIDGET BUMPERLESS

I have removed both front and rear bumpers on my 78. What if anything do I need to do on the front end where the OEM bumper was attached to the two main mounts at the end of the frame rail in the grille? Can I fit a grille without having to remove a part of mount/frame rail? Secondly, for the rear, can one utilize the rear bumper mounts and install overriders? If so, what year and overriders and brackets would fit? P.s. I do not want overriders with rubber, I like the clean look. Thank you in advance.

Great questions. I had mine converted. In terms of the front, you can fit a grille but you will have to cut the frame rails. Some people have managed to get their rectangular signal lights to fit the holes. I had mine filled and put behives in instead.

In terms of the back, you should be able to install overiders - Mine had been rearended so I had my body guy install a chrome bumper panel in its place. If you google around people are 3D printing the piece that fits under the rear lights to smooth it out.

Sorry to hear about u getting rear ended. Taking some off the frame rails it is. I happened to source a set of the fillers for the rear end and they were delivered last week. I will upload a few pics along with o other product this company makes which is the front turn signal filler that is predrilled for the beehive front signal lights.

Thanks for the reply

sounds great! Before you hack off the frame rails you could hold a grille up to it and see what happens. Pretty sure they need to come off but not 100%.

Actually the car was rearended long before I got it. It then sat in the previous owner's garage for 13 years before I got it. It was a light tap in a parking lot but I suppose indirectly led me to actually getting the car.
