No need to label and sort this part. I will remember what it is. In fact, I will put it in a safe place and not only will I remember what it is, I will remember where it is.

yeah. me too. :rolleyes2:

Yes, I always think to myself.

And you only find it once the newly ordered part turns up
Twas actually part of the dash air duct of the Vauxhall - nowhere to 'newly order' - fortunately as I was searching I found another one I could scavange from. Still haven't found the original. (and relieved because I had also forgotten I had some spares)

And to come back to this comment again, I got everything cleaned up and moved to the next step - opened a bag with O rings and discovered one of the pieces I was looking for - sheesh!

what I was looking for was the round 'vent' piece - guess which is the good one. :ROFLMAO:

you can see up close that the issue is the seal around the circular piece. The old ones are nasty so, an O-ring works (with a little hair band underneath to hold it up.

and installed (who knew they were handed. :rolleyes2:

When I sold my Ford Consul Capri,I impressed myself - when I stripped it
down I bagged & labeled almost every part,& put them in boxes labeled "RIGHT DOOR",
"LEFT DOOR",etc.I also came across a lot of NOS stuff that I'd forgotten about.

I do that with Camera bits all the time I can't tell you how many times I've picked up some cable or connector or cover, or strap and asked myself "what in the heck is this? Looks familiar but what is it and why did I buy it?"

That's a familiar issue. Having spent the first half of my lifetime with photography as the primary means of earning my keep, the amount of "stuff" is almost overwhelming. Now most of it is obsolete, too. We've the equipment to outfit a complete professional darkroom, crammed in a corner of one room. Along with generations of film cameras and lenses. Since the recent decision to "re-arm" with up-to-date semi-pro digital units, discovering things from those earlier days is like a surprise Easter egg hunt: "Wow, I forgot all about this!" as I'm looking for something else known to be here and would still be useful with DSLR's. It sometimes frightens me to think about all the money spent on that stuff over the years.
