I have two different hood frames in my collection: a permanent frame and a removable frame. Is there any reason someone would have both? I'd think the permanent frame would be preferred?

The attached frame came into the cars sometime around '66. Not positive just when, but yeah, a much faster way to get the top up as the rain is pouring down on your passenger's head.

That driveshaft looks to be out of something other than an MGB, BTW.

And that Girling kit is "Unobtanium" these days.

The scissor top frame is correct for a 70, but I changed to the later style frame for ease of use. My daughter in law has stolen my B and she only drives it on sunny days, so we removed the top and frame entirely for the kids. I’m working on a seat cushion and seat belts for the rear occupants.

If you want a rear seat cover from a BGT, I have a black one that's dusty, but will clean up. Or can be used for a pattern for a new one. Yours for shipping cost.

That should fit with not much messing! Oft thought about doing that. But no real need for it here, no "little people" to haul around. And one more bit to deal with to access the battery.

Sweet! I’ll pm my info.
Thanks, Rut

I much prefer the removable/stowable version - the car has a much cleaner look with it removed than it does with the non-removable top down. The penalty for cleaner looks is having to take a tad longer to erect the stowable top. We had a removable one on our MGC and really liked it.
