I used to wear Topsiders whenever I wore shoes. Lack of arch support or shock cushioning have moved me into Asics or other trail runners these days. The Sperry claim for wet traction is no joke. Working on a steel roof once in Topsiders and rain started. A friend in crepe soled boots went sliding by me down the slope. I grabbed him by the hair, he stopped and I didn't move a bit.
