When the original delivery date slips

After 34 years we are on the second range but still on the first refrigerator. (When my Dad wanted to get rid of the icebox and buy a fridge, my Mom replied she wanted a refrigerator instead because she wanted the whole thing.)

We grew up with two refrigerators. One in each of two homes. They lasted a lifetime, each. Back when they were built to last that long.

33 years is a good run, Elliot! We've had three ranges in the same time period. And on the fourth fridge now.
About three years ago we replaced the dishwasher. Now the oven….. next will be the refrigerator

My oven stopped working about 6 years ago. There’s a ~Printed~ ribbon cable that connects the input keyboard to the control board. The connector went fubar and GE said “it was no longer available”.
I bypassed the connector and used a crimp connector on each individual lead. It’s time to replace it and turn it into a Geely

Dealer called today to say my oven will be in on Wednesday.
I sure hope this doesn’t turn into the fiasco that bas went through.
