When the delivery date of your new washer and dryer slips by a month and a half and you’ve already parted with the old set. This….

Makes ya want to throw in the towel :ROFLMAO:

Time for, "Pioneer Reenactments" starring "basil", his trusty hose and that old rusty bucket. Filmed live in the backyard. Tonight's episode, "That load of shirts and shorts"...

we made the mistake of ditching our range hood before ordering the new one - my guy at the store said 16 week wait. Fortunately he located one in stock, but, have learned, like restoring cars, don't throw away old parts!

At least you'll have strong arms from lifting all those bags of quarters.

On the flipside, a nice thing about laundromats is running many machines at once, washing all your loads simultaneously. Then they have the high speed dryers. In an hour all the laundry is finished.

My mom lives in a condo and could get a washing machine installed - but prefers to use the "public" units in the building for this exact reason.

(Having said this, I feel your pain. I much prefer my own setup!)

That's true. I used two washers and two dryers and finished a pretty big load of laundry in about an hour and 20 minutes.

Speaking of - The set we ordered has a main washer (5 c.ft) and, since it was such a good sale, we also opted for the LG "Sidekick" washer that serves as the pedestal for the main washer (sits below the main washer). It only has 1 c.ft capacity, but will be great to allow doing main loads (e.g., colors) and to a second smaller load at the same time (whites or delicates.

Main Washer: LG WM4500HBA

That's cool! If one did enough "greasy" work, the side-kick could be reserved to pre-wash the oily stuff. Neat!

NICE!

And your overhead cabinets are very much like the ones I built and put in our kitchen! Same color, same handles. weird.

These were taken before the nickel-plated pull-handles and all laminate done:

Range and fridge now replaced with stainless and black units.

Well it's about time!
We are looking for a new double wall oven..... Can't find any (27") in the big box stores. I called a local appliance dealer today and he told me I can put a 50% deposit down and he will "let me know when it comes in". No-body has inventory.

…..And I read that because of the chip shortage the auto makers and appliance manufacturers are putting the chips into their higher end products so they can realize a greater return.

I suspect yours are much nicer. Those cabinets were hand-me-downs from when our office moved to a new location and they didn't have space for all the office cabinets, etc., I managed to snag those two cabinets plus a rather tall matching double decker floor cabinet (you can see it on the right side in the picture).

In early 2021, it took us 6 months to get a GE Profile double door over freezer refrig, a pretty generic appliance.
I had to revert to a manual defrost once a month.
I'm glad that i prefer good scotch to warm beer.

We had ordered a loveseat and sofa with our choice of fabric from their selection book from an American manufacturer in the first week of June of 2021 and were told we would have the furniture in plenty of time for Christmas. Sadly, the holidays went by, but we did finally get the new pieces delivered on March 22 of this year. I guess we should be happy that it took less than a year to make to us from the Carolinas.

You got it in plenty of time for Christmas; they just didn't say which Christmas.

While our Washer and Dryer did take a long time to get here, when they unpacked them, there was a small dent in the lower-rear area of the right side panel (the side next to the dryer). It is completely unseen when it is in situ. The good news is, that because if this small blemish that no one will ever see, we were given an extra 10% off the purchase price, which was already on special for memorial day.

I placed an order this evening for a new double wall oven. This dealer quoted me 2 week delivery. The dealer checked inventory and said there were only 3 in the US… we shall see, fingers crossed.
I really can’t complain, the one I’m replacing is the oven we bought when we built the house 33 years ago.

33 years is a good run, Elliot! We've had three ranges in the same time period. And on the fourth fridge now.
