Hello from a former MGB (2x) lover... Current vehicles: VW Weekender & Lexus NX300h, but am 'Looking' to renew my British car ownership.

John here: Apologies in advance I am a technical klutz and will undoubtedly futz up some messages, break rules (accidentally, of course) but will eventually get the hang of this august forum. I am not mechanic: I got as far as tuning my dual carbs, setting valve tappets, and other routine maintenance on my sweet red/black '67 MGB, and later my '77 (green/tan) 'baby buggy bumpers' MGB. The '67 was by far the sturdier car, but the '77 was a good runner once I installed electronic ignition . They both got sold when I started a business as a freelance camera operator and needed a rig capable of toting cameras, tripod, lights, for Bay Area film and video projects. (I'll look for pics and post when found.)

Fast forward 35 years and I am happily retired, and looking to get back into a nice British car. I have always loved the big Healey cars. I recently drove a 60s BJ8 with a ford V8 and Borg Warner transmission installed. The running gear / suspension, brakes etc. was all original or British replacement. It was not a monster hack job, but a handsome adaptation. Not to mention a blast to drive, and the owner liked the reliability. Sorry if I have offended purists, but those are my thoughts.

I will take to reading and checking in periodically. Please feel free to send a message.

welcome - glad to have you here, lots of choices out there and a few aspiring owners around here - not to mention some very avid photographers.
