WHAT THE?????

Well RedBull has about half the money on the planet, so any fines would be immaterial. But the FAA should ground the pilots for life. And if the guys who did the mods and engineering are Aircraft Certified techs, they ought to be restricted to working on tricycles.
 
When you break or ignore an FAA regulation, depending on the severity of it, you WILL pay the price! I would say those guys are done flying (legally) in the US! I doubt that an appeal would be worth one's time. As said, you can't fix stupid! :rolleyes2:
 
But since FAA doesn't regulate ultra light and ultra light fliers much ... just wait for the next Red Bull live stream: "Our two plucky pilots swap ultralights from 40,000 ft ASL!"

Won't say who or what and where, but we did some pretty stupid stuff in my youth in Cessna 150's and 172's... survival kinda has a way of influencing future decisions. o_O

While flying a 172 I lost the ability to transmit. I was returning the plane to Teterboro Airport (NJ).
LOTS of corporate jets landing so I didn’t want to enter the pattern without the tower’s permission. They ended up giving me the light gun signaling that I could land.
I was so nervous that I parked the plane in the wrong spot. Hopped back in to move it and it wouldn’t start :eek:
