All the more amazing, is that at 14,000 feet, no one will be able to see it happen except them.

That’s plane crazy.

That’s plane crazy.
They must be high

(and see the posts elsewhere about youtubers constantly upping the ante for 'likes' this very much falls into the 'hold my beer and watch this category')

I remember this saying from when I was getting my pilots license. It is appropriate for this stunt.
There are old pilots and there are bold pilots but there are no old bold pilots.

I’m not impressed , apparently these jokers never drove a 75’ Midget at night in the rain doing 70 + on the Kangamangus highway after “ happy hour“ at the lodge …….. on bald tires . Stupid should hurt & their families have my condolences . RIP .

Entering curmudgeon mode: just what good does this do, other than grab eyeballs?

Marketing - that's what grabbing eyeballs is.

"...as the plane crash-landed." Seems the same as saying the dummy was only slightly killed.

"The FAA is now investigating the crash." ?!?

That's about as dumb as the stunt itself. Save time and taxpayer money! Send me a fiver and I'll write up the report as to cause.

Seein's as how the FAA is required by law to investigate, guess we'll live with it.

Wonder if the final determination of cause will be "ego and pilot error"?

My vote is for "stupidity, leading to colossal waste."

If they want to get rid of a nice aircraft, I know a place nearby they could just set it down and walk away. I'd be happy to take it over.

Seein's as how the FAA is required by law
That doesn't make it not dumb. :yesnod: The good news is, it "should" be a pretty easy investigation.

By the way, Red Bull was the same outfit that sponsored Felix Baumgartner in his record-breaking high-altitude balloon jump back in 2012. He broke several records, including becoming the first man to break the sound barrier sans a powered craft.

How many people know that a few years later a former Google Exec, Alan Eustace, broke Baumgartner's record for highest jump by a couple of kilometers? (But Eustace used a rouge chute).

They are in a heap of trouble.
Rut Roh! The fact that what they did was specifically denied by the FAA - that's now a whole different kettle of fish. I would think they could be facing some serious jail time (or at best some serious fines).
