Recorded it and have just watched the first of two episodes on PBS. Good stuff - Ken Burns has done it again!
Hey Guest!
He's no historian that's for sure, he's a good film maker though. All of his works are derivative, which is okay for a film maker, but they are not usually as good as the books and whatnot that they are based on. He does have a mass appeal and I have shown clips of some of his films in class just because he can build a compelling narrative. I take anything with his name on it with a grain of salt. With what he and Novick did on the Vietnam war, my opinion of their productions went a bit to the negative side.
Speaking of Ken Burns, NAMI National is having their annual NAMI Conference virtually this year (in June) and guess who's coming:Have to remember that a "Ken Burns" film isn't necessarily produced and directed by Ken Burns. Do a search on "Florentine Films".
