I've noticed a significant uptick in the amount of spam emails I've received in the last couple of weeks, especially poorly-done spam. Anyone else notice this happening?

No increase here. Gmail sends 99% of my spam to my spam folder, so I'm not worried.

Mine also go directly into my junk mail folder but I have noticed more of them in there recently.

I'm not worried either. I was just wondering if current international events might be causing an increase. I notice many of the new batch are not from writers who know English.

I have noticed an fair increase in spam recently. A lot of these spam emails already go into my junk folder automatically, but for those that don't I have set up a rule. On my iMac I have set up a Mac Mail Rule such that if a "from" address isn't in my contact list already, it is moved to a folder I call "Maybe Junk." I scan that folder a few times a day and can quickly tell if an email is spam or legit. When I find a legit email from someone not in my contacts, I simply add them to my contacts so they will go to my inbox in the future.

I am governmentally required to participate in a spam factory! Florida Bar requires me to have an email account on file and tells me that the public records provision of the Florida Constitution makes the record available to anyone who asks. Vendors who contact me largely ignore unsubscribe requests in violation of the Canned Spam Act.

Just got this a little while ago.... Sure, I'll get right on it and cancel only if I take a blow to my head.

Quite sad there are likely those who WILL "run" to cancel and fill the "order cancellation."

Even if one percent fall for the ploy, there's a sudden network of machines to use for "other" things.

The letter screams SCAM... No company name, No identity of the product, No credit card name/ numbers.
I find it hard to feel for those who "run to cancel" when all the "flags" are there that say STOP and DELETE.

I have received several of those. The first time it did get my attention and I wondered, FOR ABOUT ONE SECOND, what could I have ordered. So I can see people falling for it. There should be some way you could just reach back through the interweb and get your hands around the perp's throat.
