I had a pretty bad bicycle accident in June. I still have pain due to my torn rotator cuff.
Stupid is NOT wearing a helmet when you ride. Without mine I may not be here.
Here’s my helmet with a crack down the left side along with “road rash”…. Could have been my noogin 😱

which is exactly my point (and my ambivalence about the post) - OTOH I do wish stupid (genuine stupid) did hurt a little more.

There is a very big difference between risk management... and elimination. Wearing a bike helmet is clearly risk management, and at the speeds I hit (50+km/hr) and traffic, well some protection is needed. That climbing playground which is about 2 stories tall looks like it might need a bit of risk evaluation. A fall from a round pipe is not exactly unlikely and falling 2 stories will cause serious injuries. Sadly we have gone so far to the other side that we no longer have risk management, rather an attempt at elimination... Not suggesting that I want kids to break arms or legs, but a good black and blue mark was a badge of pride :smile:
