Here I am whinin' about it bein' below 50°F for the first time this year...

It's snowing here right now! Temp in the upper 20s. Our bird feeder just outside the kitchen window must have a 100 birds on and around it! Doves, Meadowlarks, Cardinals and a bunch of little birds of various sizes. Pretty nice to watch! (y)

I’m in Tucson right now and it 68F. Perfect soccer weather.

It's 18 here, it had tried to snow earlier but it never got any further than flurries.

We had plenty O birds today as well - looked out this PM and the feeder was lying on the ground - and the wire (admittedly a long twist tie) was broken. I blame the squirrels though this morning there was a very portly bird that I had not seen before. :D

JP,

You need to chill out!

Snow is forcasted for tonight/tomorrow.You'd think it was going
to last for a month, the way people are hitting the grocery stores.
I might actually have to finally put my truck in 4WD for the first time.

They are clearing the grocery store shelves in Macon in preparation for the forecast "Mixed precipitation"

Made my hardware store trip easier everyone was at wally world.

David

No snow this morning, but when I left work I had to use 4WD all the way home.
Went to take a picture, but it was too cold & the camera wouldn't work.
These were taken at our house a little later.

Hey Doug, we got the same weather overnight (and still coming!) Woke up to this:

not going too far today.

However, let's be positive and dream of doing this instead:

That looks familiar.I had to use 4WD to get out of the driveway,
and about a mile down to the main road.
Only five of us showed up for work today.

crazy snow here today - about twice what was called for - fortunately my neighbour has a snow blower but, even a couple of main highways were closed and on the 401 (main east west highway in the province - 400 highways are the Ontario equivalent of Interstates) some people were stuck in their cars for 9 hours behind accidents.

Mary and I once got stuck on east-bound I-40 between Kingman and Flagstaff Arizona. There had been a bad accident somewhere up ahead. We probably sat there for 4 hours until finally I made it to an “emergency turn around” and was able to get back on I-40 west back to Kingman. Didn’t make it home that night.

We had 5 tornados down here not far from us. Destroyed some houses. Tornados. In Florida.
That is very strange - especially this time of year!

Probably the longest we ever have been stuck is similarly about 4 hours - behind an accident on the I-95 - and there really was nowhere else to go.

In the summer on a bright and sunny day and when we got to the accident scene it was all clear - which somehow is even more frustrating.

Likewise again the I-95 - again a lovely summer day between DC and Richmond as the entire population was heading to the beach.

Back to me.

Today was shovelling and shovelling and ummm shovelling. Our neighbour cae with his snow blower yesterday which was awesome - today was clearing out the end of the driveway where the snowplow had been (twice) and the back decks - one to get to the shed and the other to get to the hot tub. Opened the back door to this:

Oh and some urgency as it is supposed tor rain tomorrow - so, everything will freeze :rolleyes2:

My sympathies. That weather is a horror I'm glad to have escaped.

I made soup today as it is cold here. 15 Bean and sausage soup.
Looks delish!!

Did a similar pot a couple weeks ago, slow-cooked a pork roast last weekend in a roux for pulled pork BBQ. Good fare for colder days!
