running car on jack stands

Not so much, unless at a slow rate.

Only done it on car lift looking for EX leaks. I guess what is the reason is is up in the air PUNE
That's a different kettle of fish.
It would take more than one failure point to be disastrous.
Getting four jack stand to load equally is impossible.

One option may be floor jack on dif and two back-up stands if jack leaks down.
Still extremely risky.
I would trust large wood blocks more.

Never did it with anything bigger than a MK1 Spitfire.

My stands are from the 50s, rock solid built right. Biught some new this year from BlackHawk 6000 lbs. each. I put a string on the coil wire in case something doesn't seem right to kill the engine.

Consider removing tires to reduce vibration if you need to do this,

I probably won't do this. Never have and it doesn't seem to be something many do. Just getting feedback on what others think about it.

I have not done this since the middle 70s. Ran a MK1 Spit out of gas to compare to gauge. Ran lots of stuff on lifts as it was safer.

Be SMART, be SAFE…. Don’t do it.

Never crawl under while running on stands, by might have someone watch ignition for killing motor. On lifts, someone in car while other cecks things out. How found bad crank sensors on the new 2005 Jags by squirting water on them.

I would back in the cars into my srall that were stored over the winter. Jag V-12 shot dog food out both tailpipes. Stored in garage next to dog food wouldn't start and was towed in. Had a 36 Dodge that shot mice and babies at the wall. Bos came out and wondered what the popping noise was. I stayed late and repainted the wall.
