Lunar eclipse

Tonight we had a lunar eclipse, not quite a total eclipse but worth getting up at 2:50 in the morning to see.

Slept through it. But it was too cloudy overnight here anyway.

Thanks Doc. I don't have a tripod so I used the roof of the Jeep to steady the shot.
 
Great photo! Like many others, we were clouded over last night. Clear for the last 12 days, but not last night ...
 
You guys that slept through it really missed out.
 
I'd beenlooking forward to trying out the DSLR and a long optic on a tripod, but Mamma Nature foiled that plan. I do have shots from a previous one tho.
 
This morning I was taking the trash out and noticed that the moon was in nearly the exact same position that it was during the eclipse five days ago, just about five hours later in the day. So I grabbed my camera and using my jeep to steady my aim again took another moon shot.
