Put the kettle on.

It means collect all those insurance premiums you’ve been paying.

Or maybe it means you let my son install a stereo amplifier in your car, like he did with his 280Z a few years back and burned up 90% of his wiring harness!

Still painful after all these years 😀

It means I didn't disconnect the battery before I changed the last sparkplug and got the socket extension caught against the nut on the back of the alternator. Then it meant days of work sorting out the wire harness and now the battery goes flat after three days.

Oh did you mean me? :D

You have no idea! Had to get a new wire harness (pretty much every thing under the hood, and then spent all night in the BX parking lot on base replacing same.
I let the smoke out during the resto of my TR6. I was working under the dash hooking up the radio. All of a sudden SMOKE!
The thing that save the car was that the windshield was not yet installed. I quickly reached through the windshield frame and unscrewed the battery disconnect. Had to unwrap the wire bundle to replace fried wires.

Most repair instructions start with:

"Disconnect the battery."

Too many repairs instead start with: "I'm a MAN! I can do this without reading th' stupid INSTRUCTIONS!" :p

Guilty as charged.

I will recommend Treasure of the Sierra Madre. It's an amazing film, full of great dialogue, terrific acting, and a compelling story.

Another good'n - Humphrey Bogart and Bette Davis in The Petrified Forest, 1936.

Lots of 1930s social commentary. Wow
