For those who like to exercise the grey matter, here is a Cryptogram. If you solve it, post how long in took and, without giving away specifics, what method(s) helped you solve it. (For example, you might say "I got the two-letter words, then the rest fell into place", or, "I got the first three letter word, which filled in enough for me to get one of the seven letter words, and the rest was easy." You get the idea - just don't say something like "I fount that E was equal to M.") (NOTE: The letters following the dash "-" is the name of the person responsible for the quote.

Hint - this is advice that us car nuts could take to heart.

Took between five and ten minutes. I made a good guess at a 2 letter word then a couple of 3 letter words fell into place. After that it came fairly quickly. I did write a little Java program to handle the pencil and eraser work for me but it did not do any guessing. That was not included in the 10 minutes. If that is cheating then I guess I didn't solve it according to the rules after all, sorry.

Here's a little tool for anyone interested that will help with the pencil and paper bit:

I used to love doing the daily crypto until we canceled our local paper several years ago. I'm so far out of practice, I tried counting how many times each letter appeared, looking for patterns of repeated (and inverted) letter groups... In the end, the good old trick of trying to guess the 2-letter words did it.

And my excuse for taking nearly an hour to solve it is that I'm at work :sneaky:

That’s a good excuse!
