Embarqmail trouble

We have 4 Centurylink Embarqmail accounts, three of my wife's and one of mine. On my account only, when I click on any item that has been in my inbox for over three years, I get a message saying "a network service error has occurred". I keep my in box pretty clean and I have only about 12 messages in it, only one of which is newer than 3 years. My poor wife was just on line with C-link for an hour and they were no help. Does anyone here have any ideas?
Thanks, Bob

Just a guess, but if the emails are not saved or archived on your local machine, they may be lost. Files are likely purged from the provider's POP/IMAP and SMTP mail servers after some period of time. That error message is likely an "I can't find it" generic answer from the server.

Thanks, Doc. That is my inclination, but my wife's accounts open older-than-3-years emails without trouble. Maybe my problem is a setting we can't find.

Might be that server-side settings for you account and your wife's are different. Loog into the account through a browser and see if there is a setting related to how long to keep emails.

And settings in the local client to retain a copy locally.

Thanks for the suggestions. When we go on the account and click "manage email", the site says "An error has occurred" Error 54051. Will put up with the phone call to C Link tomorrow. Thanks again.

Hope you get a satisfactory solution. Always a trial with those "support" calls.
