Now I'm a-skeert!

More icons are always good!

Say, is there one for "Thanks!"?

Similar ideaโ€ฆbut the like button here is not connected to FB

Thank heaven!
(One place I work uses FB Workplace for inter-staff comms. Mention "polka dot curtains" in a private message to another staff member, and both of you start getting ads for "polka dot curtains" on various places you browse on the 'net. Wow.)

On FB YOU are a commodity that Mark Z sells to the advertisers! That's one (of many) reason I do NOT use FB.

me too!
(Or any of the popular social media platforms - which are multiplying like rabbits these days. So many of my students (high school age or older) seem to have lost the ability to have conversations; they just send photos and videos to each other, and count the "super!" and "awesome!" and "LOL" replies. One guy is dating, takes her to dinner, and they sit face to face across the table ... texting each other. oy)

Itโ€™s not too much different from your new car; you are also a commodity.
It will track your location, stops, the music you listen to in addition to your driving habits. All that juicy info is SOLD. Have a deadbeat whoโ€™s not paying? The auto company knows where you are and will sell that info to collection companies. Insurance companies also are more than happy to pay for personal driving data so they can rate your policy. Donโ€™t bother looking over your shoulder, the data collection device is in your car.

Gliderman8: the data collection device is in your car.

and in your refrigerator, your smartphone, your smartspeaker, your home security system ...

Come to think of it, we give our personal info to hospitals, insurance companies, health professionals, credit cards, employers, mortgage financers, banks, utilities ... hmmm

The TCU (Telemetrics Control Unit) NOT in my car Tom. Itโ€™s a long story and I donโ€™t want to hi jack the original thread.
