Speaking of razors

For reasons I won't bore you with, I made a personal decision that I wasn't going to use Gillette razors any longer, so several months ago I set out to find a decent alternative. On many web sites I visit I had been seeing adverts for "Harry's Razors". Then one day I happened to see these for sale at Costco so I decided to give them a try! I can report, after a couple of months use, that I have found a new razor! I have been very impressed with how nice these razors shave and also impressed with how long I can use one blade cartridge before I have to change it. They seem to last much longer than the Gillette brand. I have not yet tried their shaving gel, but I intend on buying some in the near future.

I, too, have stopped using Gillette razors. I tried Defender (> Defender Razor <) (I have no affiliation with them), and have been using them. They are inexpensive but work and last very well. I don't shave every day, and I found the other multiple blade razors clogging. Defender doesn't.

It's a device some people use to shave their heads
OUCH!!!

But I'm pleased you guys are doing the "field testing." I'd years ago given up on finding injector blades for my old Schick handle, been buying cheap BIC refill types to do the ritual face scraping. Not very close shaves and last only a few times. Harry's has been on my radar but having no reliable feedback 'til now, didn't want to purchase another piece of shaving kit based on advertising.

I understand that Harry's blade cartridges required their own proprietary handle. The fancy handles I use are Gillette-compatible and I want to keep using these handles. Perhaps Harry's will roll out a conversion or perhaps their cartridges are compatible and worth a check. Who's brave enough to master the straight edge razor?

Duck tape solves just about everything.

Braun, anyone? (I've tried many blades, don't like any of them. I've not experimented in a while - for example Harry's seems to be great. And like any of my opinions, it's only that  )

I've decided to let the full beard grow back. The ritual face scraping has become too tiresome and expensive.

Been using my electric for years. Gave up on shaving cream and having my face look like road pizza when I was done.

Is Nair still around?
OK - now you've gone and reminded me of a joke:

A woman had a dog with an issue of ear mites; drove the poor pooch nuts. So she would take him to the vet to have the hair in and around his ears trimmed pretty regularly. It got to be an expense she didn't want to have to deal with, so she asked the vet for another course of action. He told her to get some Nair and rub it in the area to remove the hairs. She asked where she could get it; the vet said any drug store should have it.

So, she headed over to the nearest one and asked the druggist if they had it. He took her over to where it was located and handed her a bottle. She looked it over and seemed puzzled, so the druggist asked if he could help. She said she'd never used it before, and the druggist said, "Oh, well if you're going to use it under your arms, you probably should avoid wearing a tight-fitting shirt."

"Oh, it's not for that," she said.

The druggist said, "Well, if you're gonna use it on your legs, maybe wear shorts for a day."

She said, "No, it's not for that either; it's for my Schnauzer,"

Druggist said, "Well, I certainly wouldn't ride a bike for a couple days."

I remember one episode of Kojak. The bad guy grabbed a hostage and held a knife to the hostageโ€™s neck and told Kojak to โ€œback awayโ€.
Kojak told him to drop the knife or he would take it from him and โ€œchange his religionโ€
