No, not a car.

After many years without, and saying, "Never again" (never say never...)...

Meet Jax - a rescue puppy. Parvo survivor and full of energy! 6 months old hound mix. Let the games begin!

Kinda' an apprehensive look on Jax face. But YEA!
Very unlike him. Picked him up yesterday and he was pretty timid. Today he's a very happy little dude!

Lucky dog! We had lost our last dog, a Jack Russell, and had been without a dog for over 5 years. It was the longest stretch without a pup in our lives.
We had just started thinking about looking for another when an abandoned Husky wandered into our yard. Problem solved.

Did you get Jax from a shelter or did he just wander into your life?

Shelter in Knoxville - the employees there really seem to enjoy their work and are very professional.

And what inspired you to visit a shelter. Had you planned it or was it one of those spur of the moment things?

We've talked about getting a dog for a while. Good friend has had several rescue dogs - two of them now - and all good experiences. Jax was brought in on April 25 and found to have Parvo; he's been treated and cleared, but we have to keep him away from other dogs for a while, to ensure he has shed all the virus. Goes back Tuesday to be neutered and re-checked for Parvo; will determine then when he can get whatever other inoculations he needs.

congrats! looks like a happy family. Years ago we had a bearded collie/black lab cross that had had Parvo. It's a different sort of experience - it would not gain weight as its digestive system was stripped and anything but proper food literally went through like sh*t through a goose. It would also eat anything! (including rocks) Lovely temperment though.

enjoy!

Good deal! It looks like he's practicing his look for when you take him to get neutered

PS: I edited your post to put the full-sized image in instead of just a thumbnail.

Anyone want to housetrain this guy for us? Been a while since we've "enjoyed" that little task. :D

I know a number of people who use the piddle pads underneath greasy car jobs (on tables) carbs etc. So, the sooner you train the more things for the garage
