This car participated in a rallye in Austria several years ago. Any ideas on the make/model/year?

Thanks!

Just a guess, Riley??

Paul - thanks for the suggestion. The circular ports on the bonnet side(s) puzzle me.

The turn signal lamps on the front wing tops sure look like an MG T series, don't they!

It reminds me of a Wolseley. I can't place that radiator grill though.

I guessed it was a Riley, but after looking at it better, the grill shell emblem doesn't look right, and there's no dip into the slats on the top of the shell as most Rileys I've seen has. The winged emblem should give a clue. PJ

The closest I can come based on the badge is Singer, but It's not a perfect match. Is it possible it's not British ?

Well, the port holes suggest Buick...

(And we know what some salesman used those port holes for ...)

Certainly possible the car isn't British, as it's a rallye in Austria.

Could it be a JAP?

Could it be a JAP?

Can't tell if it's a J.A.P. engine from the outside. I think JAPs were used mostly in cycle cars.

Interesting that the radiator emblem is difficult to find on the 'net, and those ports on the bonnet side(s) seem unusual.

Thanks.

PS - note the Germany D on the EC license plate.

Researching British logos, it might be a Lagonda, possibly an Astin Martin connection. ??? Just another guess.

Might not be a British car ...

Sorry I wasn't clear again. The photo was taken a few years ago at a rallye in Austria. Friend was there, so I don't know more details.

The fog thickens!

You did mention the car had been in a Rally in Austria, but I wasnโ€™t sure if you had taken the picture, or a friend, or you just got it off the net.

Not sure the model, but looking at some other 1930's Talbots the badge sure looks close.
