The Sant Fe News Paper is running a photo contest. If you win you get some prize (not sure what) and they publish your photo(s) in their color magazine. There was no limit on the number of photos you could submit. (The only stipulation was, the picture must have beet taken in New Mexico)
Here are the images I submitted. If you could only pick one, which would you pick?

Very, very hard choice! My first pick would be #2; I can only imagine the patience it must have taken to get that shot. Second choice would be #1. It looks like an alien landing zone :peaceful:
#7 is also a great shot. You’re making it hard to pick only one!

Shhhh - it is an alien landing Zone. It's called Cabezon Peak (Cabezon means "big head"). It does kind of remind one of a scaled-down version of Devil's Tower in Wyoming (similar geologic formations I think - volcanic plug).
 
#1 first then #7 because the rest could be taken anywhere - but those two can only be New Mexico

I have family in Las Cruces I have a pic of City of Rocks and oil wells in Eastern NM and some old West towns. But yours are nice. I live East of Reno 50 mile and have the same views. Madflyer
 
All great images, but I'd say for difficulty of subject and sense of timing, the hummingbird and the rodeo rider would be my choices.

Thanks. That rodeo rider was a tough one. The lighting in the indoor arena was beyond horrible (low light and what light there was was mixed outdoor light and (I think) mercury vapor. I was too far away to use flash. I ended up using a 135mm f2 lens (wide open) and bumped up the ISO to 2000 so I could use a relatively fast shutter speed (1/1000).
 
#1, #2, and #5.
 
#1, bright and detailed, #4 better scene with sky for mountains, #3 looked like the Smokey Mtns., #5 everybody likes bull riding, #7 nice b&w. #2 wildlife is plentiful in shows. Good Luck.
 
#4 does it for me.
