The more I look, the more yes, Diplomat but I think 1980 not 1970 - the taillights work (and they didn't start making them till 1977)

Uh oh, I just changed my vote. Just goes to show how depressingly the same these malaise era cars looked.
I say not the Faimont. The Fairmont has two "vertical" pieces behind the rear side window, one black and one body color. The mystery car only has one light one. It also looks like it has a vertical chrome strip at the end of the rear fender.
You'e all wrong - it's a Dodge Mirada.
John - good eyes. Two things that still strike me - the almost rectangular rear window, and the short trunk compared to the long hood. For some reason, I'm still thinking late '60s or early '70s.

Thanks Doug, but the Mirada never came as a four door. Coupe only.
