I wonder what it is. Maybe just a fake shell to get the heart racing. Just a book... about boats.

Not a boat, nor a fish, just a last minute gift idea. When I was a kid I remember st, er obtaining a single hubcap off a late model Mercedes, wrapping it up in a box real nice and presenting to my mother for Christmas. Then, as she sat dumbfounded looking at my gift, I feigned shock that the rest of the car had gotten away.:thirsty:

Near 30 years ago, Christmas before my first niece wasborn I gave my brother and sister in law a baby swing for her. However, when I wrapped it I got a set ofdeer antlers a great uncle had given me, taped them to one side of the box andsome other pointy stuff to the opposite side, then wrapped it. My sister in law was really reluctant tounwrap to see what I’d gotten them. Soan artfully changed package does have it’s place….

Back in the '70s, I had a "rig" for fishing. 16'7" Boston Whaler, 40 hp Evinrude and a TeeNee trailer. Cost me all of $2,500.00. Should have kept it but I sold it for the same $2,500.00 after 5 years or so as I had other hobbies to occupy my time and my kids were growing. Last year, I thought maybe I'll pick up another rig like it. Forget it. That same rig will cost me a minimum of $25,000.00. Ten times as much.
