Went to Look at "A Cortina"

The owner of our local British car repair shop told me that a guy he knew
passed away,& there was a Cortina that's for sale.I was expecting a rusted out
MKII ,4 door,automatic car.
What I found was this -

There's also an AC Bristol,that was converted into a drag racer
years ago (American V8) that was in the back of an old moving van,along
with a really nice '67 Cortina MKII 1500 GT (with A/C).
Then I was told of another car in one of the garage stalls.It was an
Australian Capri convertible,not running,but very clean.
The last one was this 1980 Ford Fiesta Sport,that was converted to
a road racing car.I'm torn,as I'd love to get it,but I don't think that I could
afford to buy it & fix it up.017.JPG029.JPG

The third & 4th pictures are of a Cosworth BDA head -
the rest of it's in another box.

Ever seen one of these? And then there was a box of these lights.
There's a lot more parts,including 2000 Pinto/Capri parts,& Fiesta parts.
Everything's for sale.Was told "Make a fair & honest offer".The money
goes to the Widow.

That's an Edelbrock manifold,with two Holley i barrels.

The only one I'd really consider is the really nice one in the trailer,
& it's not for sale (for now).I'd love to get the Fiesta,but have no budget for it.
I'm helping them sell these by putting the word out.As the money's
going to the owner's Widow,I hope buyers take that into consideration.I also
understand that people are looking for a good deal.
 
The one summer I raced my TR3 was the summer that the AC Bristols showed up in Class E and all I ever saw were their taillights. My racing career began and ended right there.
 
Wow, Doug! Good heavens! Are those blocks the 1600 Kent ones? Any idea what the Fiesta should be going for?

You fell into a mother lode of now-vintage stuff...

It's a roadster.Converted to a drag racer years ago.
Wheel wells cut out,American V*,& a roll cage.
Not sure if it can be converted back to stock.

Yeah,I still get excited over these.The timing sucks,as
I need to get the MGB GT & Midget back up & running.
I'm still thinking over the Fiesta,as they are near impossible
to come by in good shape.I might make a low offer & see if they'll take it.
 
You need one of those! Amazing to find on the east coast without the dreaded metal worm. Fiestas are fun little cars.
I have seen the dual carb setup before and it was for a MG 1250.
 
Fiesta would get a Lotus T/C engine "upgrade" if t'wer mine... :devilgrin:
