I took my TR3A out for a short run on Drive your Triumph day to a local National park. Ocmulgee Historic National park.

It was a nice day for February not too cold and not raining.

Thank you.

Did a longer drive on Saturday about 70 miles each way. It was very cold but did warm up later.

On our way back.

Beautiful.

David - great photos! Tell us more about Ocmulgee and the mounds. That building in the first photo looks like it might be a WPA project from the 1930s or 40s.

The Ocmulgee Historic National park or Ocmulgee Indian mounds as it use to be known as is a great park. Schools go there for field trips, it is a very good place to walk and in September there is a 3 day Native American festival. They use to do 5K charity runs out there (great course) but since it became a Historic National park last year they are not allowed to hold "Road Races" out there. A great pity as the races would introduce a lot of people to the park that would not normally go there.

A good description of the park. The railroad nearly destroyed the park when it was built as they started using the mounds as fill dirt.
