Flew to Kalispell,& it was an "interesting trip.
When I landed,it was about 40 degrees,and there was
snow on the mountains.
There's a strong dislike for Californians,especially
those from Southern California, who want to turn it into
what they came to get away from.Gas was about $2.90/-
gallon.
On the trip back (supposed to leave at 12:45),I
dropped off the rental car,& when I got there I found
out that the time had been changed to 3:15,due to a
snowstorm in Denver.Later it was 5:40,meaning that
I'd miss my connecting flight.
I ended up sleeping at the Denver airport, flying
out at 11:00 AM.Flew into Charlotte,NC,arriving at 4:30,
just in time to hit rush hour traffic,& had a 3 hour drive home,
finally arriving home at 9PM.
The airline employees really went out of their way to
help me out.One tried really hard to find me another flight,
& one in Denver printed out my boarding pass,& gave me three
$10 meal vouchers, good at any eating place in the airport.
I'm NOT in any hurry to fly again soon!

More to the point, how's your mom?

Thanks for asking - she passed on Monday night.
All three of us were able to tell her goodbye.
It's a mixed blessing - she had Parkinson's for
about the last 5-7 years,& was 89 years old.

Sincere condolences Doug. Will keep you and family in our prayers.

Thank you - I'm still going back & forth -
part of me can't believe she's really gone, and the
other parts does.

Glad you got to make the trip, Doug. That'll mean a lot to you over time.

My condolences too Doug. It is tough to lose your parents.

Sorry to hear Doug though glad she is at peace - and healed - 89 is a very good run! And to be there when she died makes up for any hassle in the flights!

In our prayers
