You live in the wrong climate... in your area you can only cultivate linguine bushes (they don't grow on trees)
 
I planted some vermicelli beans but they never sprouted.
I'm guessing you didn't fertilize with tomato juice.
 
That did nothing but make me hungry for my Italian grandma's "home-grown" pasta. :sorrow:
