I appreciate that it is a closed course but these are the sorts of things I just can't imagine myself doing - at least until they discover self cleaning underwear. :grin:

As an aside, I sometimes wonder about Red Bull's decision to support very very extreme sports. To my knowledge no one has died yet, but, to my mind it is a "when" not "if" and I wonder if it will affect their brand image. (or if we live in a world that moves so fast that it won't even matter in favour of tomorrow's news)
 
Or, would that be the most EXTREME marketing opportunity possible? We're so hard core, run with us and YOU MIGHT DIE!!!!!!:highly_amused:
 
I can say with certainty that I am a bit "long in the tooth" for that.

True though I wouldn't consider it extreme sport either - more in the "normal risk" albeit high speed category. Maybe as previously mentioned we are all hungry enough for novelty that it is a good thing marketing wise.

No, I realize that people have lost their lives so, there is definitely risk involved, but, with all the safety measures, cockpits/ restraints/ engine and downforce limitations etc. etc. it is fast and maybe even dangerous but not extreme. (besides, full disclosure, I find it unbelievably boring to watch) - :blush: :smile:

I would never take a bicycle down that path but man would I love to take a Formula car for a couple laps. Alone.

I suspect that Red Bull's primary market is people who aren't bothered by such concerns. After all, how many people quit smoking after the Marlboro man died of COPD?

After seeing first-hand just what horrors old age can hold; I'm not so sure they aren't right, either. "Better to burn out than to rust."

Been thru caregiving for several years, tuff. Thats over now and I try to take advantage of the fact that we still have our health, have the time and some extra money to carouse about this wonderful country. Clocks ticking.
