Bob - the cable wires are stock* solid wires.

I went to a bike shop that sells the teflon-lined housing by the foot. It's 5mm OD - it works great but is a little skinny for a BJ8 stock look.

IIRC a couple of years ago we had a thread discussing this and there is teflon-lined housing out there with an OD closer to that of the BJ8.

Addendum: * I assumed my choke solid wire was stock. I cannibalized it from my original HD6 setup. I must have bought another from the auto parts store to cannibalize for the dual HD8 setup.

OK--I'm confused (hush). I haven't looked in a while, but IIRC my choke cables, which are OEM AFAIK, are stranded. The fact yours are solid is evidently the solution.

I got mine from BCS and to make them look good and thicker for the cable holders I used a electrical plastic sleeve material I got from British Wiring. I also used some black heatshrink to better secure the ends to the cable inserts.
